Previous Projects

Jack performed as a dancer in Glyndebourne’s Festival production of Handel’s Semele. The production, directed by Adele Thomas and choreographed by Emma Woods, marked Glyndebourne’s first-ever staging of the opera. Performing as part of the dance ensemble, Jack brought his movement experience and contemporary training to this bold and visually striking production, which ran throughout the 2023 Festival season from July to August.

Jack co-created and performed in So-Fa, So Good with fellow artist Freya Brown as part of their company, Tomfoolery Dance Theatre. Blending dance, physical theatre, lip sync and audience interaction, the piece explored the ups and downs of sharing a home and the friendship that develops along the way. The production was performed at Brighton Fringe and went on to win the South East Dance Award for the Most Surprising Dance Performance, making it a particularly exciting milestone in Jack’s creative journey.

One of Jack’s early professional performance experiences was appearing in Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet with New Adventures. As part of the Young Cast, Jack performed at Norwich Theatre Royal alongside the company, bringing Matthew Bourne’s powerful and contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s iconic love story to life. The opportunity gave Jack the chance to perform with one of the UK’s most celebrated dance-theatre companies and further develop his experience as a young professional dancer.

After completing his undergraduate training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Jack joined VERVE for the 2020/21 season, the school’s postgraduate contemporary dance company. As part of the company, he developed his artistry through an intensive programme of performance, creation and rehearsal, working with a range of choreographic voices. The season included works by Botis Seva, Matthew Robinson, Caroline Finn and Barnaby Booth, giving Jack the opportunity to perform physically demanding and creatively diverse contemporary dance.
